Position: Part-time Events Coordinator (Temp)
Reports To: Development Operations Coordinator
Location: Minneapolis, MN
FLSA Status: Part-time, non-exempt
Hourly Range: $18 – $20
Position Summary:
The part-time Event Assistant is a dynamic and crucial role focused primarily on the execution and management of NĀTIFS’ participation in the Minnesota State Fair. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about promoting Indigenous cultures and culinary practices.
This is a temporary position; term ends at the conclusion of the 2024 State Fair project.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Development Operations Coordinator the planning and implementation of NĀTIFS’ participation in the Minnesota State Fair, ensuring a strong and engaging presence.
- Under the supervision of the Development Operations Coordinator, coordinate logistics, including booth setup, staffing, and materials management for the duration of the fair.
- With direction from the Development Operations Coordinator, liaise with fair organizers, vendors, and partners to ensure all contractual and operational needs are met.
- Manage post-event wrap-up activities, including data collection and analysis to assess performance and inform future participation.
Qualifications:
- Experience in event planning and management, particularly with large-scale public events.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for negotiation and relationship management.
- Knowledge of and respect for Indigenous cultures and values, with a preference for candidates who have experience working with Native communities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, particularly during the State Fair period.
