Culinary Program Director
Dawn Drouillard (she/her/hers) was born in Northern Minnesota. Raised along the picturesque North Shore of Lake Superior, Dawn has been comfortable in the kitchen since she was a child, having been taught to cook by her mother and grandmother at a young age. She is a direct descendant of Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe.
She learned to cook professionally in local restaurants in Grand Marais, most notably, The Angry Trout Café. She moved to Minneapolis in 1991 and joined the team at the eclectic Original Loring Café. Here she rose to the level of Sous Chef and excelled in the culinary arts. Recognizing the need in the Twin Cities for fresh, lively and beautifully presented food, she launched Fabulous Catering on September 9, 1999. She enthusiastically ran this premiere catering company for 22 years. She is very proud of her portfolio, as Fabulous Catering set the standard for events in the metro for over two decades, with arguably the most sought after client list in the state.
Dawn enjoys time with her husband Mike and teenage son Francis Giuseppe-Trout Gitigagoons, singing in her punk rock band, scuba diving as a trained Divemaster, and tending to her urban farm of terrible cats and very lucky rescue dogs.
