Dishwasher & Level I Flex Associate

Reports To: Culinary Program Manager
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Hourly Range: $17/ Hour Based on experience for a 90-day probationary period, then $20/hr afterward

Position Summary: The Dishwasher and Culinary Flex Associate I helps to ensure the cleanliness of the
Indigenous Food Lab Professional Indigenous Kitchen, IFL Market and Training Center. Associates work in a team environment, collaborating to provide general ware washing, janitorial duties, cleanliness and
food preparation assistance, (as needed), under the day to day supervision of the Culinary Program
Director.

Job Functions:

  • Food prep and kitchen assistance
  • Operate dish machine according to procedure
  • Wash and put away dishes
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment
  • Bag and dispose of trash, compost and recycling in proper disposal areas
  • Clean floors and surfaces daily in IFL Market, Spirit Kitchen and IFL Education Center.
  • Attend to and provide a clean and organized environment in all common
    areas including the downstairs office areas, walk ins and storage
    cages-including bi-weekly janitorial work to include floors, trash and
    recycling.
  • Follow assigned prep list duties; prepare food to be cooked by washing,
    peeling, cutting, etc.
  • Offer Food prep and kitchen assistance to the IFL Associates and Nixtamal
    Team, as needed.
  • Put away product deliveries, as needed.
  • Inventory and procure dishwashing, cleaning and janitorial supplies and
    chemicals, as needed.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all safety procedures
  • Maintain positive attitude/morale and a welcoming environment
  • Maintain good personal hygiene; accurately report hours worked using
    WhenIWork
  • Support for Culinary Program Director and other staff
  • Participate as needed in special projects
  • Other duties as assigned
